What’s that saying? When life gives you ugly apples, make a crisp.

I had bought these once lovely apples at a local farmer's market and then they sat for a week. Slightly bruised, slightly soft. I needed to use them up.
Usually, Granny Smiths are my choice for apple crisp, but these were a good substitute.

What you will need:
7 medium sized apples
white sugar
ground cinnamon
ground nutmeg
brown sugar
quick oats
all-purpose flour
butter
Peel, core and slice your apples.
Add white sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and mix. Add the apple mixture to a prepared 9-inch square baking dish

Mix together the brown sugar, oats, and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Cut the cold butter into small squares, add to the mixture. Blend the butter into the dry ingredients until it looks like breadcrumbs.

Pour the flour and oats mix over the apples and bake for 45 mins at 350 degrees F
